Collection of Dorothy Lamour Photographs and Souvenir Ashtray from Guantanamo Bay

Description

Collection of seven (7) photographs from Dorothy Lamour's visit to the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in May 1966, where she performed at a USO Show. Photographs are official U.S. Navy photographs with official information stamps on reverse.

Also included is a souvenir wooden ashtray with brass-tone cutout in the shape of Cuba. There is an oblong cutout at center and engraved text throughout that reads “USO Show” and “Dorothy Lamour / Guantanamo Bay, Cuba / May 1966”.

Condition

Photographs: Photographs contain light scratches, creasing, and have worn edges. Photo of Lamour on stage with a band behind her is more heavily scratched and smudged with black accretions on edges and reverse.

Ashtray: Velcro applied to bottom for previous display. Metal has slightly tarnished appearance.
