"Unknown Treasure" Early Modern Overcoat
Description
Overcoat styled in the early modern period from an unknown production (possibly 1970s). Overcoat is accompanied by a matching belt.
Overcoat: Gray velvet overcoat with a light gray satin collar, long oversized floating sleeves, gray satin lining, and gray decorative buttons with loop closures. Two Angels tags on interior. Gray lace and velvet trim around edges of sleeves.
Belt: Gray velvet belt for overcoat with a light gray lace trim in center. Ends of belt have hook and eye and snap button closure. Blank Bermans & Nathans tag on underside.
This may be the overcoat worn by Geraldine Chaplin in the 1973 production of "The Three Musketeers." The overcoat is similar in styling but exhibits differences in the top half (see screenshot). Bermans & Nathans were known to alter costumes post-production for use in subsequent films and plays.

Overcoat: Fading on tops of shoulders. Wear and dirt residue along bottom edge. Tears on interior lining on collar, on interior near center of back, and throughout bottom edge. Two buttons are missing near the chest.
Belt: Minor tears on reverse.
