"Unknown Treasure" Sailor Shirt
Description
Navy blue wool pullover sailor shirt from an unknown production. Appears to be from the 1940s or early 1950s. Shirt has white trim at the collar, with a flap that extends onto the reverse, with 2 embroidered white stars at either point of the squared flap. White trim also present at either sleeve cuff, along with Navy blue plastic buttons with anchor designs embossed. Welt pocket at proper left chest. Square navy blue patch with “E” embroidered in white at proper right sleeve. Shield-shaped patch on proper left sleeve has a white eagle, a white atomic symbol, and two red rank lines below. Applied text at interior waistline is mostly illegible, reads “RE 33L”. White label with cleaning instructions located under flap on reverse. “G. Kelly / MGM PROD # / 1333-45” is handwritten in black ink on the label.
